Psychiatric Intensive Outpatient Program
West Hills has developed a psycho-educational, process therapy, group-based outpatient program that provides support to patients discharging from inpatient setting as well as clients in need of intensive outpatient services.
The program meets Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to noon. Morning snack and lunch are provided. Medicaid-approved services.
Group topics include but are not limited to:
- Understanding Your Diagnosis
- The Effects of PTSD
- Self Esteem Development and Maintenance
- Importance of Medication Compliance
- Coping with Abuse
- Establishing Routines
- Daily Living Skills
- Developing Good Support Systems
- Medication Management and Education
- Emotion Management and Coping Skills
- Community Involvement
All admissions are voluntary. Each client is actively involved in the
development of their personalized treatment plan. Length of program
varies and is dependant on each individual's specific needs.
Program Requirements
- Client is free of any acute psychiatric and/or medical problem(s) that
would interfere with his/her ability to benefit from treatment in the
program
- Client is not at risk for harming him/herself
- Client is not at risk of harming others
- Client is at least 18 years of age
- Client agrees to attend and actively participate in all program
activities
