West Hills Hospital is pleased to introduce FOCUS, a mental health program for adults 55 years of age and up. West Hills Hospital is the community leader in psychiatric services and now has a full continuum of care for older adults.

FOCUS Assessment

Free assessments are available 24/7 to all individuals in need of psychiatric services. Mobile assessments may be available upon request.

FOCUS Inpatient Treatment

This program is designed for individuals experiencing acute psychiatric symptoms. Under the supervision of Dr. Vuppalapati, a geriatric psychiatrist, patients undergo an intensive personalized treatment program which includes medication management, individual, group and family counseling. Patients are encouraged to examine negative feelings, cope with daily stressors and manage mental health concerns.

FOCUS Intensive Outpatient

A step down program from inpatient treatment concentrates on issues specific to older adults, such as daily living skills, importance of social networks, and medication compliance.
