Dean T. Saling Named CEO

Dean Saling Dean T. Saling has been named Chief Executive Officer of Wellstone Regional Hospital. For the past 4 years Dean has been a part of the Wellstone Team, most recently serving as Chief Operating Officer. Dean brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to this position. The staff at Wellstone Regional Hospital welcomes Dean’s vision and enthusiasm as we continue to serve the southern Indiana and Louisville communities.

Rising Star Award Winner

In May 2006 Wellstone Regional Hospital won the local Chamber of Commerce Rising Star Award for a new business less than 5 years old. The CEO Pat Hammer and Wellstone Regional Hospital were nominated among 8 others, and ultimately chosen by an independent panel of judges who volunteered their time.

Highlights of Wellstone’s achievements that led to the award include:

Opened 8/1/03 with 12 beds, and by 8/31/03 had 50 beds available.
Within 10 months were offering Intensive Outpatient, Partial Hospitalization, and Residential Services with a total bed capacity at 82.
By the fall of 2004 all 100 beds were operational and Physician Outpatient Services were open.
Pet Therapy and Horticultural Therapy were both offered.
Community Outreach was vast including a Speakers Bureau, participation in Mentor Indiana with local middle school, nursing training site, host of support groups such as AA/NA, host of Lunch and Learn seminars, sponsorships of baseball and soccer teams, board membership, and even provide substation for the local police department.

Wellstone Regional Hospital received a beautiful glass trophy as the winner of The Rising Star Award. We are very proud of our accomplishment, and very glad that we can provide needed services right here in Southern Indiana.
