Residential Treatments
KIDSCOPE: For males 6-12 years of age
COOLSPRINGS: For females 12-17 years of age
Our Residential Treatment Center provides a highly
structured, nurturing and caring environment that focuses on the development
of behavioral control, problem solving skills, academic improvement, self-esteem
and the skill to identify one's feelings while expressing them in a healthy
manner.
Residential care is usually indicated when a
child's chronic problems continue to interfere with his/her functioning in the
community following treatment from an acute care hospitalization. Our KIDSCOPE
and COOLSPRINGS residential programs provide treatment for a duration that is
able to impart therapeutic change in the child's problematic behaviors, emotional
complexion, interpersonal relationship development and family communication
patterns.
Our multidisciplinary treatment team views each
child developmentally and plans treatment according to the individual needs
of the child. This is done in consultation with the referring agency and the
child's family or guardian. Significant issues are identified and treatment
is tailored to address areas such as:
- Physical abuse
- Fire setting
- Oppositional defiant attitudes
- Medication issues
