Adult Substance Abuse Treatment

A comprehensive program designed to withdraw patients from all addictive substances and begin a long-lasting recovery period. Emphasis is placed upon learning relapse prevention skills. This program is for patients who are physically withdrawn from mood-altering substances, such as alcohol or are assessed as being in withdrawal by a physician.

A multidisciplinary clinical team provides a comprehensive continuum of addiction treatment services:

  • Assessment and evaluation for level of care
  • Inpatient medical detoxification
  • Inpatient substance abuse rehabilitation
  • PRIDE-GLBT Treatment Services
  • Intensive Outpatient Treatment (Day/Evening)

All patients have a psychiatric evaluation, medication monitoring and social work case management.

For this program it is important that the patient have support systems and a recovery environment that sustains transfer to a lesser level of care upon stabilization.

Summit Oaks Hospital also offers individuals addicted to opiates, such as heroin and prescription medications, an opportunity to receive effective treatment through the use of Suboxone and Subutex Sublingual tablets for inpatient medical detoxification. This treatment aids patients with the discomfort of the detoxification.
