Child Services
Riveredge Hospital has designed a children's program for pediatric patients from 4 to 12 years old. The hospital provides a consistent, contained, and supportive environment with individually designed programs to meet the identified treatment objectives of each child. Family therapy and family education are key components of the program in addition to expressive therapy, therapy groups, and school.
Female Adolescent Program
Riveredge Hospital offers comprehensive individualized care for females ages 12 through 18 with psychiatric, dual diagnosis disorders as well as behavior management issues and a specialty track for pregnant teens. Our program is designed to help young people with emotional problems learn healthy ways to cope with stress and express emotions without the distraction of males. We use both cognitive behavioral and insight oriented approaches to treatment.
Male Adolescent Program
Riveredge Hospital offers comprehensive individualized care for males ages 12 through 18 with psychiatric, dual diagnosis disorders as well as behavior management issues. Patients participate in treatment with peers without the distraction of females. Our program is designed to foster independence, personal responsibility and improved relationships with family, peers, and the community.
Adult Services
Riveredge Hospital offers care for adults 18 and older with psychiatric or dual diagnosis disorders. We emphasize individualized care in a safe and nurturing environment. Treatment modalities include medication management and education, individual and group therapies, coping skills, and family therapy. A variety of groups are available to address issues such as age-related and work issues, communication skills, families, relationships, and trauma.
Senior Services
The Senior Program was established at Riveredge in response to a growing community need for specialized behavioral health services for the elderly. The program offers comprehensive evaluations and inpatient care for older adults with psychiatric or dual diagnosis disorders. Adults admitted to our program receive medical and psychiatric evaluations to assist with stabilization as well as determining appropriate treatment. The Senior Program includes treatment for behavioral disturbances due to dementia, late onset psychosis, severe bereavement or life adjustment disorder, early Alzheimer's, depression or bipolar disorder. Treatment is individualized to meet the abilities of the older adult.
