Residential Treatment Center
The Residential Treatment Center provides a structured, therapeutic and caring environment for adolescents ages 11 – 17 who are experiencing emotional and behavioral difficulties require more than a short term hospitalization or outpatient care.
Our programs focus on success; working together in partnership with families and trained professionals, to identify what each person has to gain based on personal interests, discovery and growth. Within our therapeutic community, there are activities to encourage residents to make positive choices and use healthy coping skills. We have achievement levels to provide motivation, structure and guidance at different times during treatment. Our clinical staff provides individual, group and family therapies to assist residents in improving their physical and emotional well-being. Our program components also consist of substance abuse treatment and education, recreational therapy (including a full size gymnasium, theatrical stage, ROPES course, swimming pool and community outings), music therapy, art therapy, and special focus groups (anger management, grief/loss, trauma, etc.). Discharge planning is a continuous process from the time of admission. Our on-grounds, 12 months a year, Learning Center is licensed by the Commonwealth of VA and staffed by certified teachers.
