October 9, 2008
Dr. David Williamson, Neuropsychiatrist from National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland returned from last fall’s Distinguished Lecture Series to supplement our training in the areas of violence and aggression. Approximately 250 people attended the training. This training gave health care providers an opportunity to gain the necessary knowledge to:
- Identify specific behaviors that will lead to violence
- Differentiate the difference in adult and youth motivations that lead to violent acts
- Understand the treatment modalities for managing psychiatric complications of combat injuries including Traumatic Brain Injury, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and depression
