OUR APPROACH TO TREATMENT
Poplar Springs Hospital is a freestanding psychiatric facility located in Petersburg, Virginia. The facility is currently licensed for a total of 199 beds, which include 75 acute (intensive treatment unit, adult, active military unit and adolescent), 108 residential treatment beds and 16 group home beds. Programs include psychological and behavioral treatment for adults and adolescents aged 11-18, extended adolescent acute, residential, sexual abuse prevention and group homes. An intensive outpatient program for substance abuse is located in Richmond, 30 miles north of the facility campus.

Active Duty Military Unit Dedicated on August 13th
Congressman J. Randy Forbes officially opened the Active Duty Military Unit with a ribbon cutting dedication ceremony. Sixty plus government and military officials were in attendance to hear the Congressman's remarks. See more under our News & Events tab.

With a family-centered approach, our programs offer intensive therapy and patient-focused programming in a warm, caring and supportive environment. Our trained professionals work with the patient, family and community partners to promote a therapeutic transition back into the home or, if necessary, an additional appropriate level of care.
