Palmetto Pee Dee Behavioral Health
A significant number of youth exhibit severe impairments in behavioral, emotional
and psychological functioning. Evidence shows that a highly structured level
of care, supervision, and therapeutic interventions are necessary to address
the complexity of the behaviors and emotional deficits.
Palmetto Pee Dee Behavioral Health has a long-standing reputation of treating
children and adolescents with behavioral health issues. The 59-bed facility
in Florence, S.C., is a system focused on positive outcomes. The Residential
Treatment Center is dedicated to providing longer-term psychiatric care for
children and adolescents. The program was developed in an effort to provide
patient care for those children and adolescents ages 7-18 who have utilized
acute, partial and outpatient services, but continue to demonstrate significant
problems.
The mission of the residential treatment centers is to:
- Support the development of positive and age-appropriate behaviors.
- Ameliorate maladaptive behaviors.
- Empower each youth and foster personal accountability.
