Partial Hospitalization & Intensive Outpatient Programs
Remaining at home with family and community is often the best and most appropriate
treatment situation for children and adolescents who are experiencing difficult
emotional and psychiatric issues. The Magnolia Achievement Partial Hospital
and Intensive Outpatient Program provides an alternative to 24-hour inpatient
hospitalization for children and adolescents ages 5-17. Our program allows the
patient to receive the intensive psychiatric services during the day and put
those skills and treatment gains into practice at home.
The Magnolia Achievement Program is a comprehensive regimen of daily therapeutic
activities and education designed around each individual’s needs. The program
is supervised and facilitated by a child & adolescent psychiatrist and complete
clinical team.
Partial Hospitalization is a full day of services, and Intensive Outpatient
consists of a reduced schedule.
Our Treatment Approach
Our multidisciplinary team ensures that an individualized treatment approach
is developed for each patient, focusing on individual strengths and problem
areas. Patients participate in groups that teach a variety of skills, including
cognitive and behavioral techniques. They receive training for alternative coping
techniques, socializing and handling peer pressure, solving problems, communicating
and asserting needs effectively, and preventing relapse.
Treatment is provided in an atmosphere that sets specific expectations while
promoting and rewarding the healthier aspects of behavior and stimulating personal
growth. With parental consent, a collaborative approach is taken with the patient’s
referral source and school to help facilitate a smooth transition at discharge.
Family participation in treatment is actively encouraged since strengthening
family relationships and family structure are integral to treatment.
Our Treatment Team
Patients are supervised clinically by a child & adolescent psychiatrist
along with an experienced clinical team of nurses, social workers, therapists,
special education teachers and mental health technicians.
