Willow Springs Center Rolls Out the Red Carpet for Groundbreaking
RENO, Nev.-July 2009 - Lights, cameras, action! With a "Coming Attractions" theme, Willow Springs Center officially kicked off a 40-bed expansion, complete with red carpet and velvet ropes, ticket booth and movie posters. A residential treatment center for children and adolescents, the additional patient beds will allow even more Nevada youths to receive help closer to home.
"We are very excited about this expansion, as it will allow us to increase our ability to treat Nevada children and adolescents," said CEO Jim Serratt of Willow Springs Center, a Psychiatric Solutions Inc. facility. "Our mission is to remove roadblocks to recovery and instill hope to families and kids who have lost their way. The key factor in this expansion is to keep patients closer to home, and assist families in the recovery process through regular visits and therapy sessions."
The expansion will take about 11 months and will increase the facility's beds from 76 to 116. Photos of the progress can be viewed at www.willowspringscenter.com.
The recent groundbreaking ceremony attracted about 150 people to celebrate the expansion. Among the guest speakers at the event were: Charles Duarte, State of Nevada Division of Healthcare Financing and Policy Administrator; Dave Caloiaro, Nevada Division of Mental Health and Development, Pre-admission Screening and Resident Review (PASRR), Special Projects Director and Chairman of the Willow Springs Center Governing Board.
