Psychiatric Solutions Acquires Prairie St. John’s Psychiatric Facility in North Dakota
FRANKLIN, Tenn. - (Sept. 2, 2009) - Psychiatric Solutions, Inc. (“PSI”) (NASDAQ: PSYS) announced today the acquisition of Prairie St. John’s 107-bed psychiatric facility in Fargo, N.D.
“It is a pleasure to announce the completion of our most significant acquisition to date for 2009,” remarked Steve Davidson, Chief Development Officer of PSI. “This transaction brings PSI a high quality facility with an outstanding staff in a region where PSI has no existing facilities. We are also pleased that Dr. Emmet Kenney, co-founder and CEO of Prairie-St. John’s, will remain with the organization. We are gaining an experienced professional who is intimately familiar with this facility and the region. We welcome Dr. Kenney and the Prairie St. John’s team to PSI.”
“This is an exciting next step for our group in Fargo-Moorhead,” commented Dr. Kenney. “As part of PSI, we will now have additional resources and support to continue our growth by serving additional segments in our communities. We expect to achieve this goal by expanding both our staffing and services, even as we continue to provide the quality care that has come to be expected from us.”
