National Deaf Academy
Our Services
National Deaf Academy (NDA) is a residential treatment center for deaf and
hard-of-hearing children, adolescents, and adults with a wide range of psychiatric
and behavioral problems.
NDA serves an extremely diverse, and at times, neurologically complicated population.
The treatment programs are subsequently customized for each resident based on
their specific needs, and include treatment for:
- Pervasive Developmental Disorders/Autism (hearing and non-hearing)
- Impulsivity and antisocial behaviors
- Attention-Deficit Disorder
- Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
- Anxiety disorders
- Mood disorders
- Psychotic disorders
- Developmental delays
- Communication disorders
- Drug and alcohol abuse
In addition to our innovative psychiatric treatment program, the Charter School
is uniquely suited to addressing the developmental and language-based needs
of this traditionally underserved population. Though a "total communication"
model is embraced, American Sign Language (ASL) is the primary language used
on campus.
