Substance Abuse Services: Recovery 101

Recovery 101 is an intensive four-week program designed for adolescents (ages 12-17) and their families struggling with drug and/or alcohol problems. The program runs for four days per week for three hours each day.

Recovery 101 is based on the theory that drug and alcohol abuse or dependence is a treatable problem.

Recovery 101 is focuses on adolescents themselves:

It is sensitive to cognitive level and developmental needs
It is sensitive to any current emotional or psychiatric issues
It promotes open communication and mutual respect within the family
It promotes parental roles for setting limits and appropriate boundaries
It helps family identify negative influences in their lives and encourage personal change to avoid chance of relapse
