Millwood HospitalAt Millwood Hospital we understand the transition from childhood to adulthood can be a time of tension, difficulty and turmoil. During this transition, some adolescents withdraw from family and friends, engage in self-harm, use drugs or become depressed. These symptoms may indicate more serious problems.

Signs for Concern

  • Performing poorly in school
  • Withdrawal from others
  • Violence/antisocial behavior
  • Alcohol or drug abuse
  • Depression
  • Self Mutilation
  • Suicidal thoughts

Treatment Program

  • Expertise and environment provided that can help seriously troubled teens transition from childhood to adulthood
  • Adolescent enabled to strengthen daily functioning in social and interpersonal relationships by using problem solving skills learned in program
  • A successful adjustment back to daily activities facilitated by discharge planning, the help of referral sources and a plan for ongoing care
