Children Services
We offer inpatient programs for children ages 5 to 12 with emotional, psychiatric, or behavioral problems. At Millwood, we understand that agitation, temper-tantrums, fussy eating, sadness or restless sleep patterns
are not unusual behaviors in children. However, when coupled with other behaviors such as purposely hurting themselves or withdrawing from affection, these behaviors may be an indication of severe psychological problems.
Treatment Program
- Individualized treatment plans designed by our interdisciplinary treatment team for each child, incorporating the family as a significant participant in treatment
- Appropriate medications prescribed, if needed
- Child centered programs specifically focused on:
- Identifying the problem
- Behavioral change
- Self-control
- Development of skills
- Strengthening relationships within the family and family structure
- Family participation actively encouraged
- Communication maintained with child's referral source or the child's school to facilitate treatment following inpatient stay (with parental consent )
