Private Residential Treatment Facility (PRTF)
Medicaid-approved residential programs for children & adolescents
Residential treatment programs are a longer-term treatment program (approximately
six months) for children and adolescents with long-standing behavioral health
problems. Separate programs are offered for children (ages 8-12) and adolescents
(ages 13-18). The programs offer physician-led, multidisciplinary treatment
that addresses the overall medical, psychiatric, social and academic needs of
the child. Residential treatment center programs offer a balance of therapies
and activities in a safe, structured setting.

- Lower-level of medical supervision with highly structured program of group
activities

- 24-hour staff supervision
- Biweekly visits with a psychiatrist
- Therapies include individual therapy, family therapy, group psychotherapy,
expressive therapy, recreation therapy, art therapy and pet therapy
