Program Information

Manatee Palms Youth Services is an intensive residential treatment facility for male and female children ranging in age from 6 to 17 years old. We have clinical programming for general psychiatric, behavioral, sexual, posttraumatic, and substance abuse issues with a specialized sexual aggressor unit for boys and advanced behavioral programming for girls.

We have made massive investments in producing an environment of care that can incorporate cutting-edge safety measures while yielding a comfortable, normative experience for our youth during their stay.

These facility improvements are mirrored by the improvements to our clinical programming. We utilize only evidence-based best practice in our therapeutic milieu, including rational emotive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, and motivational interviewing.

Psychiatric, medical, and nursing care is delivered 24 hours a day, seven days a week, with weekly one to one contact with the child's psychiatrist.

We have on-site academic instruction for our children with certified ESE teachers. Educational assessments are conducted upon admission to tailor the teaching style to the child's specific needs. This educational experience is enhanced through computer-based curriculum and credits offered are transferrable to the child's home school after treatment is complete. We are also a day school provider for the School District of Manatee County.

These integrated educational and psychiatric services are complimented by individual, family, and group therapies, expressive therapies including recreational, art, and pet therapy, psycho-educational groups, vocational rehabilitation, and targeted case management services.

Our behavioral programming and level system offer the opportunity to access upper-level day rooms including privileges such as XBOX 360 ™ and MP3 players as levels are achieved throughout treatment. Lodging includes comfortable living spaces and infrared bathroom fixtures as well as extensive outdoor activity areas, all enclosed with privacy-screened fencing. This includes a large playground, a full-sized sports field, basketball courts, and a swimming pool, with outdoor activities daily as weather permits.
