Adolescent Sex Offenders Program

The adolescent sex offenders program is a residential treatment for male and female juvenile sex offenders between the ages of 12 and 18. Empowering adolescents by discontinuing maladaptive behaviors is the ultimate goal of the program. The program provides repetitive learning scenarios with increasing levels of freedom and privileges.

Patient Profile

Adolescents between the ages of 12 and 18 who:

  • Have a history of aggressive problems with sexuality
  • Have committed a sexual offense
  • Are in good physical health
  • Have no active psychosis
  • Have an IQ sufficient to succeed in the program

Treatment Components

Upon admission, each individual participates in the following program components:

  • Diagnostic evaluations
  • Individual therapy
  • Group therapy
  • Family therapy
  • Specialty groups
  • Recreational activity
  • Vocational planning
  • Individualized education
  • Case management and discharge planning

Discharge Planning

Discharge planning begins on the day of admission with input from the referring professional by establishing short-term and long-term treatment goals for each adolescent. Discharge options include going back to the family setting and/or continuing treatment in a less restrictive or alternative treatment setting. A successful outcome depends on the return of patients to supportive environments.
