Items to Bring to the Program

Items Not to Bring

Dress Code

Conditions apply at any time the patient returns to the facility. All clothing and other items should be marked with the patient's name on the tag.

  • Casual clothing (Only 4 changes of clothing on Acute; 7 changes of clothing on RTC) including: socks, underwear (please only send briefs or boxer style undergarments, no thongs), tennis shoes, and pajamas packed in an inexpensive sports or duffel type bag. All clothing should fit loosely. Do not bring clothing that is tight fitting, does not cover abdomen or upper torso, or is too small. (Please reference the Patient's Handbook for an additional list of clothing that is not permitted.)
  • Appropriate warm clothing during winter months
  • Modest swimsuit (females to bring one-piece suits only, no bikinis) and T-shirt for cover-up
  • Shower shoes or flip-flops
  • One pair of tennis shoes (preferably without laces). If they have laces, the laces will be removed and patient will be given an alternative for laces.
  • Other items as identified as appropriate items on the dress code
  • One doll or stuffed animal plus two non-electronic toys (No toys requiring an electrical cord or batteries allowed.)
  • Personal bedspreads and pillows are allowed but these items are furnished for those who do not bring them
  • Posters, family photos (No frames or picture-hanging hardware.)
  • Appropriate personal paperback books; reading activity, coloring books (books and magazines must have NO staples NO hardbacks), and crayons
  • Inexpensive watch with leather or rubber band
  • Only SMALL elastic hair accessories with no decorative attachments
  • Bra without any metal clasps or under wires (sports bras preferred)

Hygiene products will be provided by the facility. Items will be issued and must be kept in controlled room and signed in and out to patient by staff upon each use.

The following items will be provided by the facility:

  • Toothbrushes
  • Toothpaste
  • Lotion
  • Comb or brush
  • Lotion
  • Deodorant
  • Soap (plastic container)
  • Shampoo (must be in plastic container)
  • Conditioner (must be in a plastic container)
  • Special Body Wash (must be in a plastic container)

**Please note any items brought into the facility that are not on the approved items list will be considered contraband. (Refer to the contraband/unauthorized list.) These unauthorized items will be turned in to the Risk Manager. Items of little or no value will be disposed of immediately. Items of high value will be given to the patient's guardian at the earliest convenience or stored in a secure area by administration.

**Lost, stolen or damaged items will not be replaced by the facility.
