Items Not to Bring to the Program
Conditions apply at any time the patient returns to the facility.
PATIENTS CANNOT BRING THESE ITEMS TO THE FACILITY:
- Any hygiene products
- Any glass items or aerosol can
- Belts
- Products with an alcohol content or caustic chemicals, i.e. nail polish, nail polish remover, flammable products
- Any sharp objects; the following is not a complete list but may include: razors, pocket knives, scissors, fingernail clippers, nail files, artificial nails, thumb tacks, and bobby pins
- Any clothing, including homemade clothing, associated with gangs, profanity, violence, drugs, alcohol, tobacco, sexual content, or music (rock bands, rappers, hip-hop, etc.)
- Clothing with any strings, including any hooded clothing with strings or with belts (i.e., jogging pants)
- Jewelry, including: earrings, bracelets, necklaces, belly rings, toe rings, anklets, rings, and any other type piercing jewelry
- Iron and curling irons
- Items of significant monetary or sentimental value
- Any food or drink items; to include candy or gum
- Any electronic games/equipment: radios, head phones, cell phones, etc.
- Pens and pencils
- Curling irons or hair strengtheners
- Anything that requires batteries or electricity to operate
- CDs, DVDs, cassette, tape recorders or video tapes (music will be provided by the facility)
- Shoes with shoe laces
- Roller skates, skateboards, bikes
- Luggage
- Hats, headbands, bandanas, gang or violent related clothing or paraphernalia
- Items not on the list of what to bring
- Any illegal substances, alcoholic beverages and/or cigarettes and lighters or matches
- Magazine or reading materials with sexual or violent content
- Hair accessories that have metal or plastic, bobby pins, hair pins, barrettes, and elasticized ponytail holders
- Bras with any type of metal including clasps or under wires
- Any type of make-up
- Any type of hair dye, hair weave, or hair bonding products
- Purses, back packs or other tote bags
Patient and staff safety is our number one priority. The facility will conduct routine and random searches of the patient's area and personal property.
** Please note any items brought into the facility that are not on the approved items list will be considered contraband. These unauthorized items will be turned in to the Risk Manager. Items of little or no value will be disposed of immediately. Items of high value will be given to the patient's guardian at the earliest convenience or stored in a secure area by administration.
