Vocational
 The vocational training assists patients in obtaining vocational assessments and training for jobs and/or careers.
New Day Academy's Vocational Program
New Day Academy has developed a vocational program designed to improve student learning, in-school retention, and transition to the workplace.
The program is intended to improve the quality and relevance of education through experiences that integrate school-based and work-based learning and increases the student's knowledge of and access to career opportunities.
The following are offered:
- Cosmetology- includes the types, textures, and porosity of hair; the
proper care of hair; skin care, make-up; manicures and pedicures.
- Work Shop- includes indoor/outdoor painting; woodworking; and small
maintenance repairs, such as, changing light bulbs, ceiling tiles, etc.
- Landscaping- includes gardening and planting; lawn, shrub, and tree
care.
- Other agencies in the area that include the Alabama Cooperative
Extension Agency, offer a variety of work training experiences
for the students.
