Educational Program
Laurel
Oaks Behavioral Health Center is proud to have the New Day Academy on our facility
grounds. This year-round accredited school program is fully integrated within
the broader residential experience. Highly qualified and carefully selected
educators provide the academic instruction for all of the children and adolescents
admitted to our inpatient programs. This educational program is also individualized
to meet the needs of each student while accommodating necessary Individual Education
Plans (IEP) and GED requirements.
The official curriculum is guided and based upon
the Alabama Standards of Learning and while at Laurel Oaks, students can earn
academic credits that can be transferred to their home school upon discharge.
We also offer a summer program from the end of June through August. We believe
that a child should be able to maximize his/her education in a nurturing and
positive based, child-focused environment.
