Crisis and Assessment Services
The RESPOND department provides crisis phone, assessment, and admission services
24 hours a day, seven days a week and serves as the emergency services department
of Holly Hill Hospital. A counselor is available at all times to speak with
the person in crisis, a friend or family member, or referring professional.
No-cost, confidential crisis assessments are conducted by a staff of counselors,
psychiatric nurses, and psychologists, and treatment recommendations are provided.
If admission is recommended, RESPOND will assist the patient and family through
that process. When admission is not recommended, referrals to appropriate community
providers will be provided. Recommendations for treatment are made in consultation
with a psychiatrist after a thorough assessment has identified current needs.
Family or others involved in the situation are encouraged to attend the assessment
to assure that all details and symptoms are clearly discussed. No referral is
required for the crisis assessment, although professionals involved in the patient's
case are encouraged to provide clinical information to facilitate the most appropriate
recommendation.
Holly Hill accepts both voluntary and involuntary admissions, including referrals from hospitals, mental health clinics, and professionals in private practice.
To schedule an assessment, talk with a counselor, or make a referral, call
RESPOND at: (919) 250-7000 or (800) 447-1800.
