Inpatient Services
Inpatient services at Holly Hill provide short-term treatment for crisis intervention
and stabilization. Reasons for admission can include (but are not limited to)
suicidal or homicidal thoughts or attempts; symptoms of depression, anxiety,
bipolar disorder or other mental health problems that significantly impair daily
functioning; severe behavioral problems endangering the patient or others; or
the need for detoxification from drugs or alcohol. The first step toward admission
is a no-cost, confidential assessment with the RESPOND department, at which
time a psychiatrist will determine the need for admission. Inpatient services
provide treatment for children, adolescents, and adults beginning at age five.
All inpatient treatment is led by a psychiatrist and coordinated with the treatment
team. Treatment teams oversee the care of patients in all programs at Holly
Hill. A treatment team is comprised of a psychiatrist, registered nurses, therapists,
case managers, recreation therapists, and nutritional consultants. Teachers
and addiction specialists are included in the treatment team depending on patient
needs. Each patient's treatment team works closely with the patient and family
to develop a treatment plan during the stay at Holly Hill and a discharge plan
to support continued recovery. All patients receive a physical examination;
routine blood-work; a medication evaluation; medication management; individual,
group, and family therapy; recreational therapy; and a nutritional and/or medical
consultation, if needed.
