The basic philosophy is that sexual offenders’ cognitive distortion and deviant sexual assault cycles are learned behaviors and can be positively affected through therapeutic and educational programs.
The mission of the Sexual Offender Treatment Program at Heartland is designed to have the juvenile offender accept full ownership of his choices today. The habilitation of the offender reduces the possibility of further offenses, thus creating a safer community.
