Heartland Behavioral Health Service’s Child Acute Program offers comprehensive psychiatric treatment for ages 3-12.
Average Length of Stay: 7-14 Days
Admissions Criteria:
One or more of the following criteria must be met
- Threatening to, or behaving in a manner considered dangerous to self or others.
- Continued destruction of property
- Acute exacerbation of symptoms suggesting an organic dysfunction or presenting organic symptoms secondary to psychological/emotional factors
- Unable to function socially, educationally or in the family environment
- Pre-existing psychiatric conditions that demonstrate deterioration clinically with exhibition of the above criteria
- No significant progress with outpatient treatment and patient requires medication evaluation, special services, or continuous/skilled observation
