Havenwyck Day Hospital Program
Havenwyck Hospital understands that going from
inpatient hospitalization back into the "real" world can be a jarring experience.
The new coping skills and behaviors learned while hospitalized may be difficult
to sustain. Recognizing that many patients require a more gradual re-entry back
into their environment, Havenwyck's Day Hospital Program designed for children
and adolescents ages 3 to 17 and adults 18 and older, bridges inpatient with
outpatient services. It has the dual advantage of maintaining a person in a
structured treatment environment while integrating with family, work, school
and community.
The program operates Monday through Friday from
8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. with a hot lunch provided in the hospital cafeteria. It
combines a structured treatment setting - at the core of the treatment experience
is intensive individual, group and family therapies, augmented by recreational
and activity therapies. Increased personal responsibility and healthy adoption
within the family, work, school and community are the ultimate goals for each
patient.
Patient may be referred by self, physicians,
family members, friends, employee assistance programs, court officials, insurance
case managers, outpatient clinics, hospitals and other agencies.
