Friends Hospital
Friends Hospital, located in Northeast Philadelphia, is a 192-bed behavioral health facility offering comprehensive inpatient services to children, adolescents, adults and older adults suffering from behavioral and emotional health problems.
Founded by Quakers in 1813, Friends is the nation's first private psychiatric hospital.
Friends' inpatient services include:
- Children's program for ages 5 to 12
- Adolescent program for ages 13 to 18
- General Adult program for higher functioning adults ages 18 to 65
- Intensive Adult program for higher acuity and adults with severe and persistent mental illness
- Women's program specifically for the behavioral health needs of women
- Dual Diagnosis program for individuals with co-existing mental illness/substance abuse issues
- Eating Disorders program for males and females ages 13 and over
- The Greystone program, a long-term residential facility for individuals with severe and persistent mental illness
- Crisis and Admissions Center providing evaluations, referrals and admissions 24 hours a day, seven days a week
