Chemical Dependency Services
Fairfax Hospital’s Addiction Recovery Treatment Services are DASA-approved and comprehensive, and include inpatient and intensive outpatient programs. These programs provide treatment choices for individuals dealing with substance dependency issues, offering different levels of care geared toward the individual needs of each patient. At Fairfax, chemical dependency is treated holistically, focusing on the medical, emotional and psychosocial elements of dependency.
Inpatient programs at Fairfax Hospital’s Kirkland campus provide treatment choices for individuals dealing with acute substance dependency issues. Programs include:
- Acute medical detoxification
- Short-term intensive inpatient medical stabilization
- Inpatient dual diagnosis treatment track
- In-depth alcohol and drug diagnostic evaluations and DUI assessments with on-site drug testing
The treatment utilizes cognitive behavioral therapy and multi-disciplinary models. We support treatment while the patient takes physician-prescribed medications. Additionally, art therapy, acupuncture, dietary consultation, videos, self help, support groups, family programs and guest speakers will be integrated and used as indicated by the specific recovery needs of each individual.
Fairfax also offers PROMETA™, a medically-based treatment designed to target adverse changes in brain chemistry that occur with alcohol, cocaine and methamphetamine dependence. Provided primarily in an inpatient setting, the two to five day treatment involves prescription medications and nutritional supplements administered by hospital staff.
Intensive outpatient program clients participate in personalized treatment while continuing to live at home and work regular hours. Available at both the Kirkland hospital campus and Tacoma campus, program elements include individual counseling sessions, process groups and educational lectures. The program is discrete and confidential, ensuring patient confidentiality.
Information for all services is available by calling Fairfax Hospital, where help is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Once an in-depth alcohol and drug assessment has been completed, appropriate treatment services will be determined based on the patient’s needs. Admission and participation in detoxification and the intensive inpatient medical stabilization program will be determined by the admitting physician. The physician will evaluate the patient’s current and chronic medical conditions.
