Psychiatric Assessment Team
The Fairfax Psychiatric Assessment Team (P.A.T.) is available to assess, triage,
and refer individuals who are experiencing severe emotional, psychiatric, behavioral,
and/or substance abuse problems. The escalation of a crisis may be prevented
by calling the Fairfax P.A.T. The team is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a
week.
Psychiatric Assessment Team Features
- Assessments are provided as a community service by P.A.T. evaluators who are registered mental health counselors and trained psychologists, social workers and counselors.
- The clinicians are trained and experienced in assessing problems associated with mental health issues of children, adolescents and adults.
- Individuals are referred to appropriate community services according to need and financial resources.
- Appointments may be scheduled ahead of time at our facility.
When Is Assessment Needed?
Psychiatric assessment and referral service may be helpful for individuals or family members experiencing:
- Abuse Issues
- Anxiety
- Behavioral problems
- Depression
- Eating disorders
- Job crisis
- Personality disorders
- Psychotic reactions
- School crisis
- Stress
- Suicidal thoughts or plans
- Threatening or destructive behavior
