Psychiatric Assessment Team

The Fairfax Psychiatric Assessment Team (P.A.T.) is available to assess, triage, and refer individuals who are experiencing severe emotional, psychiatric, behavioral, and/or substance abuse problems. The escalation of a crisis may be prevented by calling the Fairfax P.A.T. The team is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Psychiatric Assessment Team Features

  • Assessments are provided as a community service by P.A.T. evaluators who are registered mental health counselors and trained psychologists, social workers and counselors.
  • The clinicians are trained and experienced in assessing problems associated with mental health issues of children, adolescents and adults.
  • Individuals are referred to appropriate community services according to need and financial resources.
  • Appointments may be scheduled ahead of time at our facility.

When Is Assessment Needed?

Psychiatric assessment and referral service may be helpful for individuals or family members experiencing:

  • Abuse Issues
  • Anxiety
  • Behavioral problems
  • Depression
  • Eating disorders
  • Job crisis
  • Personality disorders
  • Psychotic reactions
  • School crisis
  • Stress
  • Suicidal thoughts or plans
  • Threatening or destructive behavior
