Adolescents

"I was able to find many other people with the same problems who cared and supported me."

Seeking professional help for an adolescent is the most difficult decision a parent has to make. Finding help can be intimidating and confusing.

The staff at Cypress Creek Hospital understands the concerns of parents regarding the treatment process. We offer help in determining each adolescent's needs.

At Cypress Creek Hospital, parents are actively involved in their adolescent's treatment. Parents learn new skills in managing their adolescent's and receive support from other parents.

Services

Our adolescent's services are specifically designed for adolescents aged 13 to 17, who are experiencing emotional and behavioral problems which interfere with daily life, physical health, family and/or school.

Problems may be expressed in a variety of ways, such as impulsive or defiant behaviors, inability to concentrate, extreme or prolonged mood swings, use and/or abuse of alcohol/drugs or physical aggression towards self or others.

School

Cypress Creek Hospital provides private instruction to adolescents who require hospitalization. Classes are small, and individual attention is provided by an education coordinator who is skilled in working with adolescents in treatment.

Programs

Treatment programs refer to the different levels of care provided in treatment. Programs vary in intensity from comprehensive inpatient care to day treatment. Cypress Creek Hospital provides a full range of programs, such as: Inpatient care focuses on crisis intervention, assessment and medication stabilization. It is a 24-hour, highly structured program.

Day Treatment care is provided for adolescents who are able to remain in their home overnight, but require greater structure and direction during the day.
