Parents and Family

As a parent, this time period can be very stressful. Your child may have been placed in short-term hospital stays or may have been recently in trouble for his or her behaviors. A longer time period of learning and behavior management is often key in correcting the issues that are disturbing your child. A residential treatment facility is designed to address the psychological issues that require time to create change and healing.

At Columbus Behavioral Center, we specialize in teenagers and provide a safe place for your child to explore their issues and make the changes neccessary for a successful life. Since your child is important to us, we offer your child support while enforcing appropriate boundaries.

Family is also a key aspect of treatment. Therapeutic passes with family, visitation and phone calls are all opportunities for you to remain involved in working through family issues. Because we know that your relationship with your child is integral to their success, two family therapy sessions per month and attendance at our monthly Parent Day is required as part of our program.

Our staff is invested in ensuring that your child has a positive stay with us. We are a close-knit, youth-friendly organization and always appreciate your feedback throughout the experience. If you would like a tour we would be happy to accommodate you. You will notice that Columbus has a lively environment, with painted murals on the walls, an activity therapy room, classrooms, playground, computer lab and dining room.
