Therapeutic Foster Care offers a host of services to children, youth and families:

  • Therapeutic foster care programming
  • Home-based programming
  • Case management services
  • Therapeutic group homes

Our services target the hard-to-serve, multi-problem children, youth and their families whose service needs may otherwise go unmet. Our extensive array of wraparound services enables children, youth and their families to receive the care they need in their homes and communities, reducing the need for institutional or out-of-community placement.

Therapeutic Foster Care meets the needs of children and youth who have experienced traumatic or abusive situations and have emotional/behavioral issues as a result by providing them with treatment services in the least restrictive, most normalized environment.

Children and youth placed in the therapeutic foster homes present with a variety of special needs:

  • Psychological
  • Emotional
  • Behavioral
  • Social
  • Educational
  • Criminal
  • Various types of sexual dysfunction
  • Teenage pregnancy and parenting
  • Medical
  • Substance abuse issues

The role of the therapeutic foster parents is central to therapeutic foster care. They serve as primary agents in the delivery of therapeutic services to the child and are the primary focus of intervention with children and youth in their care. We provide our therapeutic foster parents with significant support including pre-service and ongoing training, 24/7 crisis intervention services, respite, and caseworker support. We also provide foster parents with an allowance for each child’s room and board, clothing, personal hygiene and spending money. Additionally, we provide a tax-free income stipend to the foster parents each month per child or youth.

Every child and adolescent deserves the opportunity to live in a supportive, structured home with a loving, nurturing family. Therapeutic foster care provides the closest possible approximation of a normal family environment that can be achieved in an out-of-home placement. Maybe you can bring some light into a child’s life!
