Group Home Services
Program History
In 1995, Briarwood Treatment Services established
a Therapeutic Group Home program for male juvenile sex offenders that offered
sex offense specific treatment in a residential home-like setting. In response
to the need to enhance the continuum of care that exists in the community, the
Independent Living Program was developed. This program promotes life skills
to assist the individual in preparing for a safe and full transition into the
community. For the developmentally delayed population, Briarwood provides and
additional treatment setting that addresses the specific needs of the adolescent
with behavioral and sex offending issues.
All three of these programs are designed to intervene
early on in a child's life when sexual behavior problems first begin occurring.
Through the wide range of program components
that make up Briarwood Treatment Services, our chief concern is the individual.
We are committed to developing young people who can return to society and lead
normal, productive lives.
