Treatment Benefits
Belmont Pines Hospital is designed to enable residents to participate in a full array of structured, individually-tailored therapeutic and recreational activities. The hospital environment includes spacious classrooms, common areas, and rooms designated for individual, group, and family counseling.
All of our programs provide these clinical treatment services:
- Individual Therapy - social workers provide psychotherapy and assist the patient in developing and enhancing coping skills
- Treatment Plan - outlines the goals and objectives of the patient's individualized therapeutic treatment. The plans are developed by the treatment team consisting of the psychiatrist, program director, nurse, and social worker with input from the patient, referral source, and family.
- Psychiatry - our medical staff is comprised of boarded psychiatrists, both general and child/adolescent. Each patient receives an initial psychiatric evaluation, medication management when indicated, and ongoing clinical supervision during the visit.
- Family Therapy - family plays a significant role in both the dynamics of a child's behavior, as well as in the successful treatment of a patient. We strongly encourage family participation in the evaluation, treatment, and aftercare planning process.
- Group Therapy - social worker provides psychotherapy and aids the group in developing coping skills.
- Nursing Supervision - provides around-the-clock supportive interventions with patients, assisting with developing healthy living skills, providing assistance with activities of daily living; medication education; teaching and role modeling pro-social behaviors; and providing behavioral management when needed.
- Milieu Therapy - includes a behavioral level system, positive reinforcement systems, community groups, and intensive patient supervision.
- Activity Therapy - consists of physical recreation, specialty groups, community outings and structured therapeutic activities including anger management groups, leisure education, social skills training and the development of independent living skills.
- Experiential Therapy - in the warm months, patients from all of the clinical programs have the opportunity to participate in experiential therapy with the Alpine Tower. This innovative therapy enhances both self esteem and socialization skills. Professionally trained staff will facilitate climbing through a variety of exercises that foster cooperation, respect, trust, communication and team building.
- Thorough Discharge Planning - initiated at the time of admission, the discharge plan is formulated and revised throughout the episode of care. The aftercare plan is developed by the social worker with the participation of the patient and family, which includes follow-up recommendations for treatment.
